COME AND SEE
The next day John was there again with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "behold the Lamb of God." The two disciples heard what he said and followed jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "what are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they went and saw there he was staying and they stayed with him that day." (Jn 1:35-39 NAB)
Like the two disciples seeking to know Jesus, you may be experiencing a similar desire to "come and see" how Jesus may be inviting you to serve him as a priest or brother. This free and informal gathering enables men (ages 18-45) interested in exploring a possible religious vocation with the Society of Jesus, (the Jesuits) to listen to, ask questions of, and speak with Jesuits about our vocation stories, our prayer life, our ministries, our community life, and the process of vocaiton discernment.
For more information, please contact Fr. Radmar Jao, SJ (vocations@calprov.org).
CANDIDATES' WEEKEND
A Candidates' Weekend is a chance for men discerning a call with the Society of Jesus to experience a weekend with Jesuit novices and other men exploring priesthood or religious life. The time together is informal with a focus on sharing information and experiencing what actually goes on during the two years of novitiate formation. Participants can expect to spend a lot of quality time with novices, listen to their reflections about the Spiritual Exercises and direct service placements, and have a chance to ask questions of them and th novitiate staff.
Friday, February 15 - Monday, February 18, 2013 (President's Day Weekend)
Jesuit Novitiate of the Three Companions
For more information, please contact Br. Jim Siwicki, SJ (jsiwicki@calprov.org).
